Dian Dowling Evans

Dian Dowling Evans

Dian has always been dedicated to helping people. She started out her career as a counselor. After several years in practice, she realized that with nursing skills and knowledge, she would be able to do more to support her clients’ health and well-being.

Dian is dually board-certified as a family and emergency practitioner. She’s studied integrative medicine therapies since the 1980s, has practiced yoga for more than 20 years, and did her PhD dissertation on research into the effects of yoga on chronic pain. Her years of working in pediatrics, family and emergency medicine, and urgent care settings, have taught Dian the value of bringing a wide range of approaches to patient care.

Dian met Dr. Nick in 1999, where they spent five years working alongside each other in the E.R. at Gwinnett Medical Center. In 2008, Dian became the Director of the Nurse Practitioner program at Emory’s School of Nursing. She reached out to Dr. Nick about setting up HUCFM as a clinical training site, and they’ve been caring for patients and training future Nurse Practitioners and Physician’s Assistants ever since.

Dian is a Clinical Professor at Emory School of Nursing and is the Director of their Emergency NP program. She received her BS in nursing from the Medical College of Georgia, her MSN as a family nurse practitioner from Emory, and her PhD from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center – Memphis. She also holds a graduate degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Georgia.

As a wife, a mom, and grandmother to four, Dian especially enjoys women’s health and the diverse group of patients who trust Highland Urgent Care for their health care needs. Her pledge to you as her patient is to listen to and support your choices on your journey to wellness and excellent health.

Choose healthcare that’s between you and your doctor, not you and a corporation.
