Nicholas J. Beaulieu

Nicholas J. Beaulieu

MD

Dr. Nick has over 25 years’ experience in Family Medicine, Urgent Care, Travel Medicine, and Emergency Medicine. He’s dedicated his whole career to building an independent, family-run, community-focused practice and finding innovative ways to make healthcare, effective, efficient, accessible, and fairly prices for all patients, whether they have insurance or not.

Dr. Nick oversees our Urgent Care Clinic, Family Medicine Practice, and Travel Medicine Clinic. In his personal practice, Dr. Nick focuses on Functional Medicine, working with patients in our Highland Personal Health program who want to be more proactive and optimize their health. Dr. Nick is certified by The Institute for Functional Medicine

Dr. Nick completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, with minors in Chemistry and English, at the University of Miami.  He received his Medical Degree from Morehouse School of Medicine and completed his Residency in Family Practice at California Hospital Medical Center (1993-1996), where he served as Chief Resident from 1995-1996.

Dr. Nick is certified in Functional Medicine, Family Medicine, and Travel Medicine.  He is fluent in medical Spanish, as well as English and is a member of the International Society of Travel Medicine and of the Direct Primary Care Coalition.

Amy Hatfield

Physician Assistant

Amy Hatfield is a Physician Assistant who grew up in Gwinnett County. She’s been with Highland Urgent Care and Family Medicine since 2009. Amy sees patients in our Urgent Care Clinic, Family Medicine Practice, and Travel Medicine Clinic. 

Anyone who has experienced Amy’s kindness and the level of care she provides her patients won’t be surprised to learn that she began her medical career as a pediatric emergency room nurse. After five years, she moved to Charleston South Carolina to complete her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at the Medical University of South Carolina. 

Amy attended the University of Georgia for her undergraduate studies and earned her Bachelors in Nursing from the Medical College of Georgia. A true Bulldog at heart, when she’s not at work, Amy enjoys traveling, spending time with her family and watching UGA football. 

Dian Dowling Evans

Dian has always been dedicated to helping people. She started out her career as a counselor. After several years in practice, she realized that with nursing skills and knowledge, she would be able to do more to support her clients’ health and well-being.

Dian is dually board-certified as a family and emergency practitioner. She’s studied integrative medicine therapies since the 1980s, has practiced yoga for more than 20 years, and did her PhD dissertation on research into the effects of yoga on chronic pain. Her years of working in pediatrics, family and emergency medicine, and urgent care settings, have taught Dian the value of bringing a wide range of approaches to patient care.

Dian met Dr. Nick in 1999, where they spent five years working alongside each other in the E.R. at Gwinnett Medical Center. In 2008, Dian became the Director of the Nurse Practitioner program at Emory’s School of Nursing. She reached out to Dr. Nick about setting up HUCFM as a clinical training site, and they’ve been caring for patients and training future Nurse Practitioners and Physician’s Assistants ever since.

Dian is a Clinical Professor at Emory School of Nursing and is the Director of their Emergency NP program. She received her BS in nursing from the Medical College of Georgia, her MSN as a family nurse practitioner from Emory, and her PhD from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center – Memphis. She also holds a graduate degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Georgia.

 As a wife, a mom, and grandmother to four, Dian especially enjoys women’s health and the diverse group of patients who trust Highland Urgent Care for their health care needs. Her pledge to you as her patient is to listen to and support your choices on your journey to wellness and excellent health.

Lee Economy

Lee Economy

FNP-C, ENPC

Lee Economy has nearly 20 years of clinical practice in Emergency, Urgent Care, and Family Medicine. He came to HUCFM more than a decade ago as one of Dian Dowling’s brightest Nurse Practitioner students. Lee is a graduate of Emory University. He’s worked in the E.R. for 12 years and is a leader in his field, heading up all of the NPs and PAs for Emory’s E.R. program.

Lee has spent most of his life in the Atlanta area and is active in his church community. He enjoys running, cooking, traveling, and playing with his children. He also speaks fluent Greek and has a working knowledge of basic Spanish. In his “spare” time, he’s also pursuing an MBA.
