Walk-ins Welcome

We’ve taken the financial guesswork out of seeing your doctor.

  • As an independent practice, our fees are lean and straightforward.
  • We don’t operate under a corporate parent structure.
  • We’re not beholden to venture capitalists or Wall Street.
  • There are no regional managers, c-suite executives, H.R. departments, or marketing initiatives to bloat or complicate our prices.

We’ll always discuss the costs of services with you beforehand, so you can make informed decisions about your care.

The prices for self-pay patient services are available here and by request in our office.

For insured patients, prices will vary depending on the insurance provider and the specific plan.

Even if you have insurance, it’s often less expensive to pay cash and then submit the receipt to your insurance company – particularly if you haven’t met your deductible.

Here’s why:

The way healthcare currently works, doctors and insurance companies do not collaborate. We are completely separate.  This is important for you to understand, because it’s incredibly complicated and difficult for you to know how much your medical care is going to cost – and whether or not it’s necessary.

That is why, at Highland Urgent Care and Family Medicine, we offer all-inclusive pricing for patients who self-pay for services. This is designed specifically to give patients who are UNINSURED and patients who are INSURED WITH HIGH DEDUCTIBLES access to affordable care.

Filing for your care through your insurance company may actually cause you to owe more than the all-inclusive cash-pay price.

That’s because with self-pay, we have the ability to group services in cost-effective packages, rather than having to bill each item separately through your insurance company. Self-pay services also cost less because we don’t have to pay someone to bill the insurance company and wait months to receive payment. And if you haven’t met your deductible, you’re going to wind up having to pay us directly anyway.

So, even if you have insurance, in most cases, you can take advantage of self-pay savings by paying cash at the time of your visit and then filing with your insurance company to have your payment applied to your deductible.

It’s complicated, we know. If you have questions, please feel free to ask one of our staff members for further information.

Highland Urgent Care and Family Medicine welcomes self-pay patients and accepts many types of insurance, including:

Aetna logo
BCBS logo
Cigna logo
Humana logo
UHC logo
Medicare logo

*Urgent care visits only

Blue Cross/Blue Shield PPO, EPO, Blue Cross/Blue Shield HMO, POS, Pathway X, Federal (all federal policies start with “R”) | Aetna HMO, POS, PPO · Cigna policies that begin with the letter “U” | Great West Health (part of Cigna) | Humana HMO, POS, PPO | United Healthcare and UHC Student Resources | All Savers (UHC network)

The fact that we accept these policies doesn’t always mean your insurance will pay for the visit. We’re happy to help however we can. But you must also be familiar with your plan to know where you stand in meeting your deductible and if the reason for your visit is covered.

We do not accept the following Insurance:

  • United Health One
  • Golden Rule (even though it’s part of UHC)
  • Medicare (unless for an Urgent Care visit)
  • Medicaid
  • Marketplace
  • Ambetter – While we don’t take Ambetter, we will provide patients with Ambetter insurance a discounted physical exam rate of $120, which includes up to two laboratory tests. Please request a code-specific receipt that will allow you to apply your visit payment to your Ambetter deductible.
